BravoNation

Those Medaling Kids, the BravoNation Blog

Send a Bravo w/o an Email, Bravo Badges, other stuff

We've got a couple of new features released this week! Read the blog post for more information.

Yet more stuff!

Hey Bravoteers! Time for this week's updates to BravoNation:

1) Featured Bravos: There's been some pretty Bravos made by you guys, so we've featured a bunch of Bravos for you guys to admire and covet. You can see them on the home page and the staff will cycle ones we like on a regular basis. (And yes, one of them IS Jean Reno, made by our very own Gordon. Actually - nevermind, it's NOT Jean Reno. Not at all, copyright lawyers.)

2) A new profile page: We've made the users profile page a little bit more presentable - now your page includes a more detailed log as to the Bravos you've received and sent to people. We made our display case look a little prettier as well. Here's my profile page, or you can view your own by clicking on your user name in the home page.

And as always, let us know if you have any questions, comments or issues. Or just comment in the blog post!

Add Multiple E-mails to your Account

Hey folks, here are some recent updates on BravoNation -

1) We've been having some requests to set different e-mail addresses as your primary BravoNation account. Now you can - click on your user name in the upper right corner, then go to "Email Preferences."

2) Recently, mashable made a comment about our "Rough Draft" status. While we could a lengthy explanation on what we meant when we say "Rough Draft" rather than "Alpha" or "Beta" or whatever the hip buzzword is this week, we'll just link to Gordon's thought on the matter linked from his blog. (As per the advice of mashable, however, we're really going to have to try scanning napkins. That really could speed up development time.)

As always, if you come across any problems or questions or difficulties, let us know by submitting something to our Contact Form.

More Invites!

Aaah, January 2nd. Or as I like to call it, "the day most of us begrudgingly go back to work after a LOT of days off for the holidays."

Work aside, we hope you had a lovely New Year - and as a show of thanks for helping us test BravoNation, we're giving all current Bravoteers five extra invites to BravoNation. Send them to your friends and colleagues! Read more.

If You Can't Draw, Trace!

We've only been around for a week and already we're seeing some awesome stuff come out. We know our drawing tool is pretty rudimentary right now and there's definitely a lot of functionality we'd like to add soon. In the meantime, Erik Kastner has written a bookmarklet that lets you trace any graphic. Read more about it.

Update: Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone, it's been a whirlwind since our last update - Andy Baio over at waxy.org was nice enough to write up an in-depth overview of BravoNation, and since then we've allowed you Bravoteers to send Bravos out to your friends that aren't on BravoNation yet. (Note: While they'll be able to receive your Bravos, they won't be able to send Bravos of their own until you invite them. We'll be giving users invitations to send out at as time goes on.)

Keep sending your feedback via the contact form - the team will be on every so often to address important bugs, but we might be slower due to the holidays - we'll be back in full force after the New Year! Until then, keep on sending Bravos, and thank you for helping us out.

And, of course - Happy Holidays, on behalf of myself and the entire BravoNation team! Uhm, if you are of the appropriate piety, of course. In any case, we think you're swell.

Welcome to BravoNation!

Hi, everyone! For those of you who got invitations, congrats and thanks for helping us try out our Rough Draft, Bravoteer! For everyone else, you might try to bug your friends for invitations.

So what is BravoNation, you ask?

A Bravo is something either a website or individual gives to someone to recognize their achievements. For example, we might give you a Bravo for being the Most Diligent Blog Reader… read more
